Gurgen Arakelov

I’m a researcher and technical founder working on privacy challenges in AI and decentralized systems.

In 2023, I founded Fair Math, a research-driven company dedicated to solving the foundational problem of privacy in AI and decentralized systems. We develop cryptographic infrastructure based on Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) and other privacy-enhancing technologies to enable secure computation in untrusted environments.

More recently, we launched Parley — an AI-native intake and qualification layer for asymmetric markets, starting with private capital. Parley helps founders access investor attention while enabling investors to scale how they evaluate opportunities in the AI era.

Previously, I worked on privacy-preserving AI systems at Samsung and Huawei. At Wheely, I helped build one of the first FHE-powered privacy-preserving ride-hailing systems.

My work is focused on secure computation, AI-native systems, and infrastructure for the next generation of digital markets.

Beyond technology and research, I’m deeply interested in space, the quantum world, and the origins of the universe.

I am currently based in San Francisco.

Education: B.Sc. in Computer Science (2013), M.Sc. in Mathematics (2015), PhD Candidate (since 2019)
